Camp O'Bannon is a nonprofit residential summer camp near Newark in Licking County, Ohio, operating since 1922 and one of the county's original United Way agencies. It serves roughly 400 referred youth ages 9-15 each summer (main camp ages 9-13) at no cost to families, with children referred by social-service agencies and county schools. Campers enjoy arts and crafts, swimming, nature, games, field trips, campouts, and cookouts in a supportive setting aimed at building skills and self-esteem.

I learn how to swim do crafts I learn respect for others. I learn manners.. I miss Camp O’Bannon so much I wish my kids could’ve went. That is the best place on earth to be, when you’re a kid on summer break. I really do wish there was a place like Camp O’Bannon here in, South Carolina. ★Katherine KnightIf your child has behavioral problems I absolutely do not recommend sending them to this place. The director admitted he raised his voice to my kid because he became frustrated. She stated he screamed at her with spit coming out of his mouth. She can be very frustrating if you are not trained to handle it! But people in these types of positions should know how to handle them. My kid experienced other issues with staff as well. They are not trained to deal with kids like her. When enrolling her I asked many questions and informed them of her issues. I was assured that staff is well equipped to handle these issues. They most definitely are not. I am reaching out to her school who referred her to this camp as well. I hope that this experience did not ruin camp for her. While she is 10 we will try another camp in a couple years.
