Camp Nejeda is a nonprofit camp near Newton, NJ dedicated to children with type 1 diabetes, operating since 1958. It offers eight weeks of traditional overnight (sleep-away) camp plus day camps, family camps, and weekend programs; age-specific sessions combine typical camp activities with hands-on diabetes-management education. Staffed for medical needs; campers are subsidized about half the cost by the Camp Nejeda Foundation.

★★★★★Ann ManousosThis camp is wonderful! My 10 year old attended for BFF weekend to see if he would like camp. At first he was nervous, but on pick up day he said he didn’t want to leave! This camp is like something out of a movie situated near a lake with cute cabins, activities, zip lines, boats, etc. they have their process down to a science and my son was able to enjoy a carefree weekend. Same with my husband and I! No dexcom alarms because the amazing staff of T1Ds and HCPs took great care of my son. Highly recommend BFF weekend if your sugar baby is on the fence about going a full week. We will be returning!
