Camp Nakomis is a summer day camp run by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands on 35 acres in Carter Lake, serving youth ages 6–14. Campers take part in fishing, archery, canoeing, arts, outdoor-skills education, and swimming at the on-site pool.

My kids have gone several years and my daughter has been a Jr counselor. The director is very involved and made a lot of improvements over recent years. My kids come home exhausted and filthy every night. They used to go to ymca camps and refuse to go back.
