Camp Myrtlewood is a Church of the Brethren camp and retreat center near Myrtle Point (established 1936) set on 158 acres of coastal temperate rainforest. Framed as an environmental-stewardship and hospitality ministry, it hosts faith-based summer and family camps and group retreats with nature hikes, creek swimming, arts and crafts and evening campfires. Amazing staff that made the most delicious food (I was seriously impressed!) and they made it all extremely allergy friendly, even adapted items so no one was left out! It was a belly dance retreat for myself and my daughter. We both have sensory issues and had plenty of options for eating. Everyone working was so kind and welcoming, down to the camp kitties wandering around. I hope to be back yearly if not more often! Amazing place to unplug without giving up ALL your comforts. Would be a great 'camping' trip for the family without having to invest in all the gear!
