Camp Mundo Vista is a Christian overnight camp for girls, hosting the week-long Horizons Camp for Girls on a 154-acre property in the Uwharrie Mountains near Sophia. Girls who have completed 3rd grade through age 17 are dropped off Monday and picked up Friday for a residential week of experiential activities taught from a Biblical worldview. Powered by GoogleThe cabins are not taken care of, and the bathrooms in it are not as well. Spiders everywhere in the cabin bathrooms and spider eggs lined up against the cabin door. Roaches are also a problem.
I just spent 10 days in paradise, exactly what I needed for mind, body and soul and to finish writing my next book. I loved hearing and enjoying the rippling fresh water infinity pool just a few steps outside my room. It was fabulous to sit poolside, catch some rays, with an amazing mountain view and a continuous flow of butterflies and dragonflies adding vivid sparks everywhere. Even caught a glimpse of a pair of toucans! The property is beautifully maintained with colorful foliage and flora. The guided hiking to two waterfalls nearby was a fabulous experience, with so many breathtaking views on the way. I loved having a full kitchen to cook inspired creations from all the harvest I obtained from the lavish farmer's market. It is an organic and clean eater's dream! Loved the added touch of the host inviting everyone to a community potluck, typically once a week. We enjoyed a feast each time that could compare to a fine restaurant. Great cooks staying those two weeks! I also appreciated their airport service, so I did not have to worry about getting a taxi. The driver is also a tour guide and will make a stop to the grocery on the way in. Another nice touch! I accomplished all I had hoped to do including some time to unplug and truly enjoy nature all around me. Thank you Teresa for making it such an enjoyable and memorable experience!
If there was a way to give zero stars that would be my rating. Rude and bossy, self-absorbed counselors. Water was stagnant/ gross. Cabin smelled like mildew.
Such a beautiful place! The outdoor chapel is stunning. It's a great place to go and "get away from it all." The scenery around camp is beautiful and the staff is always helpful.
Water was contaminated while we were there. Moths the size of your face in the cabins. Uneatable food. My buddy got Rocky Mountain spotted fever so the only good thing was I got to leave on Wednesday instead of Friday. Beware....
