Powered by GoogleMy siblings and I go here every year for their annual summer camp. It's always such a fun experience and we always make such good memories! Beach on one side, lake on the other, it's a perfect place to hang out and swim with friends and family! I rate it 5/5 stars because it is always the highlight of our summer!
Beautiful, full on summer camp feel. Lovely, helpful, and kind staff. Christian based but you’re free to be you. Guests are asked to help maintain a clean environment but I’m OK with pulling the sheets from my bed and sweeping the floor in my room to lend a hand. Kitchen staff makes tasty chow and plenty of it.
Camp Magruder holds a special place in my heart. 💜 Direct access to beach with a spot for bon fire, right off the lake, with a water trampoline with launcher, they have arts and crafts, and boats you can take on the water. They have archery and my camp does rack and drama and music there. They even have a little merchandise store where you can get camp Magruder stuff. My camp has been going there for years. We have gone to know the owners pretty well and seeing their daughter grow from an infant into a child. It is so fun to go back year after year. The cabins are nice with outlets, and they have little kitchenettes in them too. Showers and baths in the ones I've been in. We also do movie night in the field. A dance and a carnival. If I ever move down there I would love to work there. It's just a great environment. They have more private areas to look out at the water with pews you can sit on. And just enjoy the wildlife and outdoors. You also go on nature walks. And I love seeing the camp songs before going to meals. Also love their campfire space we love to get together for those summer nights around the camp fire. When asked to picture myself in my happy place I automatically go to my camp at camp Magruder. 💕 They also have rope courses that are really fun. And they have a basketball court and a playground and a pit for a ball game. I forgot the name but it is fun to play. I also needed to get immediate medical attention one year at camp Magruder and it was still great experience with the staff who were very friendly and calm. I could not wait to leave the hospital to come back to camp Magruder. Also they have great food! And plenty to go around! They also have coffee, tea and juice and hot chocolate which is exceptionally nice. I have been a camper and a counselor at camp Magruder and it has been great! I have also heard family camp is awesome! And I would love to take my family here by ourselves away from my camp if I have the budget. Overall it is a great place to forget about reality and let out your inner child! No one is judging you!! 10/10 would highly recommend. PS they also do a sandcastle build challenge and they even have a costume closet. Feel free to bring clean donations.
Awesome place to take your family or any function staff is amazing they super friendly and are up to date on the covid protocol not to mention the food was awesome multiple beach access trails and lake access they will be a staple to my summer fun for the rest of my life
My family has been going here for at least 2 generations. Unfortunately this last time was for a memorial for my wonderful mother. The staff were extremely accommodating and I know from experience that this place is a wonderful place to go for camp. Lovely place
