Camp Lu Lay Lea is a Christian summer camp on Henderson Lake at 92 Ohio Street in Lupton, established in 1948 and now in its 78th summer, open to boys and girls ages 7 to 15. It runs six weeks of camp with up to 86 campers per session, and campers take part in boating, swimming, fishing, campfires, chapel, devotions, arts and crafts, gaga ball, confidence course activities, a weekly dance, quest groups, skits and nature exploration. The camp is licensed by the State of Michigan and regularly inspected by county and state authorities, and is a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, with a mission to serve youth — especially LCMS youth — in the Saginaw Valley and southeast Michigan.
