★MadisonI went here as a child multiple years and the whole process is very manipulative. They make it so the first few days your child has the best time and then the second to last night they start with the manipulation. As I got older I referred to it as ‘cry night’.It included sermons and testimonies that are heavier than anything else they’ve done earlier in the week and then, when you’re tired and emotional, the counselors meet with their campers to “talk” until you either accept God or recommit to God if you’re already a christian. My last year I didn’t fold and cry because I knew what was going to happen and I was already a regular church goer. The counselor took me outside alone to try to get me to have some sort of emotional response. And when I didn’t another one tried. They do this the second to last night so that your kids have time to feel better with all the excitement of the last day/night. If you value your child’s long-term mental wellbeing do not send them here whether you are Christian or not. Bringing children to Christianity would be much better achieved through making children that they are safe, loved, and had a great time in a Christian environment. Their practices are not good for maintaining life long faith… and I cite it as one of the top reasons why I turned away from organized religion/ churches. Some other details that parents might want to note is that the dress code is more strictly enforced on girls, even the young ones, and they are openly homophobic on their website.
