Camp James Ray is a 540-acre Boy Scouts of America Scout reservation of the Circle Ten Council on the Texas side of Lake Texoma near Pottsboro. In summer it runs Cub Scout resident camp (3-day/2-night for rising 2nd-3rd graders) and Webelos resident camp (4-day/3-night), with canoeing, sailing, rifle, shotgun and archery ranges, hiking and the Sanford Aquatics Center's large pool.

★★★★★Fire KI must say that this is a beautiful camp. The pool is huge and awesome as well. I'm not a fan of the latrines, but there are porcelains around, if you're up for the trek. 🤣 You can hear a variety of critters around(typically at night) - owls, geese, frogs, etc. Beware of the loud boats and occasional hootin' and hollerin' from the folks living around the lake. Thank you so much for the well-maintained facilities!

They work so hard to put the actives together and they ran very smoothly. Everyone is extremely kind and exactly what a scout should be!
★★★★carlos perezGreat SCOUT camping spot. Bathrooms are good to use even after hours near the pool, they have a hot shower and clean proper bathroom. Shooting range is great. Campsites have many good fire rings and there are wooden bases for campsites. I have never used water at the sites. We always bring our own water, and dispose of trash. Many turns on the way to the camp entrance, so be slow and careful. Check in at front desk, leave your car and truck and trailer parked outside of the campsites. If this is an issue, bring a wagon to carry your stuff. Be a Scout pack light, and ask for help moving your equipment. The Rangers do not like people parking near the campsites, which is a nice thing. Very safe area, many things to do. Make plans before you to reserve spots so you can participate.
