Camp Huawni has been a part of my family since 1985. Between myself, my husband and our three kids, we have a combined 53 years in those piney woods. Friendships born in those rustic cabins in the '80s thrive today in our group text thread that has over 25 women who communicate dozens of times throughout the year. We've hosted each others' wedding showers & baby showers, we've organized auctions for camp scholarships, and we've shown up for each other in hospitals and at gravesides. Camp Huawni has been part of my family's life since the 90's, truly a home away from home. Rooted in long standing traditions, more of that "old school" summer camp feel, with a focus on having fun and making life long connections with other people. No phones, just good old fashioned play, outdoor activities, silly events, truck rides, sing songs, camp stories told by the best story tellers, and the sweetest "little red church" where campers can congregate and hear about Jesus. My life and my kids life are better because of this place!

What truly sets this camp apart is the staff. They are simply unmatched—incredibly caring, attentive, and dedicated to the campers. It speaks volumes that so many counselors choose to return year after year, which creates such a consistent and nurturing atmosphere. They also boast the highest staff-to-camper ratio I've come across, which provides such peace of mind. I was initially worried about sending my anxious child, but they thrived and absolutely loved it. Seeing them gain that confidence and come home so happy was priceless. If you are looking for a place where your child can disconnect from the digital world and truly connect with themselves and others, this is it. We couldn't be happier!
