Powered by GoogleI am posting this review to inform parents of the content this camp uses during chapel time. As a parent myself, I felt unprepared to hear these messages being delivered when attending what I thought was a "Christian, non-denominational" camp. During the 3 days we were there, July 25-27, the director Lisa and her camp staff used their chapel time to discuss the following topics: Critical race theory Gender "confusion" Homosexuality Evolution I'm sure more topics were included, but at the time I made the choice to walk out with my children, ages 6 and 8. I felt it was important for these topics to be discussed by MYSELF as the parent, not for my children to be blindsided. We attended the camp with our church. We had a group of 15 kids total, ages ranging from 6 years old to 12. Although our church has been attending this camp for 10+ years, we have prayerfully made the painful decision not to return due to our experience. All 4 of us as chaperones had to have conversations with the children, answer questions and ease the concerns of their young, confused hearts. We called each individual parent to inform them of what was discussed, each parent's reaction being understandably upset. Overall, it was an ugly, heartbreaking and traumatic experience for all of us. When will we as Christians start to refocus and center ourselves on spreading the love of Jesus?
My granddaughter has been going here for summer camp since she was 6 years old. She loves it. She has a blast and always wants to return. She meets kids her age from all over Texas. They have Chapel Services each day and she enjoys these as much as she enjoys the outside activities. The staff is super friendly and I feel confident leaving her with them. A great summer camp.
We had a great family camp experience last summer, and loved the Pilgrim's Progress theme! God is truly glorified at this camp! The facilities are awesome and there is so much to do! Chapel with string bean and the high energy dancing was definitely our favorite! 😊
Thanks God for this place. Sharing the GOOD NEWS and empowering young men and women to server the next generation of The Church. I wish I could support them more and hope I can go back to be a part of this Kingdom Building experience!!
Its been years since I was here but I loved every second of the 2 weeks I was. Horses, archery, canoes, arts and crafts not to mention the church sessions we had. It was fun and I got to know more about God.
