Camp Grady Spruce is the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas's co-ed overnight camp for ages 7-16, on the shores of Possum Kingdom Lake about 120 miles west of Dallas. Weekly Sunday-to-Saturday themed sessions run through the summer, with water skiing, sailing, canoeing, a zipline, climbing wall, archery, riflery, horses, outdoor living skills and arts and crafts, plus a separate equestrian ranch camp track. The Y states the camp is ACA-accredited and does not require a physical or immunisation record, and it reserves one June week for Operation Camp and Operation Purple Camp, hosted by the Armed Services YMCA and the National Military Family Association. The two-week Gratton Leadership Program is a counselor-in-training track for campers who turn 16 by June 1, and the Y offers need-based scholarships plus a 20% discount for children of active police and fire members and 25% for active-duty military and veterans.
