I have faith that this is an amazing program and has alot wonderful resources, yes they are strict. And yes, that is well needed, but there are a couple members there that has an unorthodox way of teaching. They assume you are coming to the program knowledgeable about EVERYTHING that has to to with Strive, like you would for a job you are interviewing for. Also EVEN though you are there to "Register" they consider that to be your "First interview" without telling you that is, what it is. And then "orientation" yes you will have a mock interview, they do tell you that, but DON'T tell you, that as soon as you come in, your in the interview and the interview is also a "GROUP INTERVIEW". Also they claim they are strict, but it is more of you will be put on the spot, mad to figure out what you're doing or have done wrong and fix it yourself without suggestions or any natural teaching resolutions. So be prepared to be made an example out of like we are children, instead of them realizing we are adults and can comprehend things better if you are just direct and actually using teaching methods. And To Ms. L. David, No ya'll WONT be the reason I DON'T finish, but its people like YOU who will Make a person NOT START! The program could be amazing and trump all othe program, given the resources, the people in charge are the problem. They want you to be professional, but they are unprofessional.

My son and I've been having our taxes done there for years. Looks like they have a lot of positive things going on for the community. Classes and job training , counseling for individuals and families. Great place.

This place is unprofessional. They are suppose to be providing resources for people to get their lives together and it has a secret braiding shop apparently. No where on the website or when I called did they offer this service. However a lady proceeded to tell me a colleague braids hair there for men. What kind of business is being ran?? My man was suppose to be there to get a job and build a career. Instead he graduated and goes there to flirt and play with “classmates” and also the instructor. He knows information about cameras which I don’t understand. Cameras are for personnel. How does he know where to hide from cameras? He’s not staff ! I just think places like these are playgrounds for adults who have nothing going on in their lives. And instead of helping they are harming. Instructors and staff should keep their legs closed and worry about truly providing real resources for people. If alumni isn’t there to build their future, they shouldn’t be there. Causes too much confusion. And whoever answered the phone when I called to inquire if they had hair braiding service, was rude and had to quickly make something up. If that’s a service that you provide, it should be advertised on the website as it being APART of the program. Which proves that every minute there is not about getting a job. I really thought they had some kind of salon.

Center for Urban Families is a place that embraces you like Family as soon as you walk into the door. The resources inside those walls are life changing. It will take consistency, effort, and determination by the individual to fully take advantage of all the benefits of the Center. They will definitely help you become the best person you can be. I love CFUF.
