Powered by GoogleAmazing place! The campers develop relationships with others and share their growth and faith with one another. Best part is they teach and advocate resiliency in our love for God.
Camp has shaped me for who I am today, and I have made the sweetest lifelong friends at camp. There are so many good memories and so many more to come! I've learned countless life skills plus grown in my faith and learned to be a leader. What a blessing it is to be a part of Camp Cherith!
Camp Cherith is a very, very special place. It has been in operation for 70 years now, serving generation after generation of campers. A feeling of peace and serenity greets you as soon you enter the grounds. The serenity is interrupted by the excitement of campers heading to the waterfront, gearing up for horseback riding, or any of the myriad of other activities available. This is NOT a coed camp. There are five girls' weeks and two boys' weeks. There is a variety of housing available depending on what age group the camper is in. Generally, the younger ones are in the older cabins, while high school age are housed in a nice, new building constructed just a couple of years ago. The staff is unbelievably dedicated and return year after year. Many of them were once campers themselves. And the food...! Special diets available. Camp Cherith will be a life-changing experience.
There just isn't a better place to grow in your faith and develop real life skills and lifelong friendships! Whether you're doing daily devotions or slurping chocolate pudding through unused pantyhose while your cabin mates cheer you on, you will have your life changed when you're fully immersed in Camp Cherith's philosophy of Christ in every phase of life. As a camper for 10 years and a counselor for 10 years, I know I wouldn't be who I am today without Camp Cherith!
I've been involved with Camp Cherith for over 25 years as a parent of campers, parent of staff, and a volunteer. This is a safe nurturing place for kids and adults - I love the small camp size (usually 70-90 each week), single gender weeks, and every week has all grades attending. You feel loved, laugh a ton, learn new things, and Christ is manifest in all areas of camp.
