Powered by GoogleI shot a wedding here and everything is top tier. Walden is amazing and was the best helper and the camp is so stunning with so many beautiful views and kind people. Getting on the waitlist for next family camp asap!
Our son the attended co-ed 2-week session at Cheerio for seven years running every July. No cellphones. No calls home. Only letters. A big locker full of t-shirts and shorts. A bunk with nine other boys in a cabin. Swimming in the lake, kayaking, target shooting, golf. All sorts of goofy traditional songs. Sits atop the Blue Ridge with a breathtaking vista from 2,900 feet. He had a blast every single year. And we live in Philadelphia so it was a poke to drop him off and go get him. But he looked forward to it every summer from age 8-14. Wonderful place, good people.
My middle child has been the past two years. He loves it. Climate controlled cabins, at elevation so not nearly as hot as most summer camps. He loves the food and counselors.
If I could give this place more stars I would! I love everything about going to cheerio. It is the most warm and welcoming place in the whole world. The activities here are so amazing with such a variety. I have been in four different cabins here and never had a bad councilor. And don’t even get me started on the food here. Every year it is amazing and they add things to the menu that just make it better and better. In my three years of going here it has really become my home away from home.
I participate in Y-Guides with both of my children. We have been to all the area Y camps, this is our favorite. The view is gorgeous. None of our groups can figure out why the food here is so much better than the other camps. It really is head and shoulders above the others. There cabins are clean and modern. We love Camp Cheerio!!
