Presbyterian Christian overnight camp and retreat center on Little Grassy Lake, about nine miles south of Carbondale within the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge. Established in 1952, it offers themed summer sessions including horseback, music/art/drama, photography, high-adventure and general camps, plus counselor- and leader-in-training tracks, with cabins, a swimming area and lakefront on a wooded 60-acre site.

One son was minor injured at camp (he's clumsy, LOL) and Director Dan communicated with me promptly, and they took care of everything correctly (I am a nurse, so know they did right). The counselors are funny and energetic, but also keep some order and safety (such as enforcing safe swim rules at the lake). They have a Bible lesson daily, and campfire skits on Bible events. I love that they have a "no cell phone" policy.
