Camp By The Sea is a JCC summer day camp in Margate City, NJ, operating since 1946 for children roughly ages 2–13, run by the Marjorie & Lewis Katz JCC of Atlantic County and rooted in Jewish values. Activities include beach time, surf lessons, swimming, art, dance, music, sports, and field trips, with age-appropriate programming from toddlers through teens.

★JIf I could give zero stars to this camp I would and wish more was posted online so I knew to avoid sending my six year old son here this past summer. We had numerous horrible experiences and I took him out early that is how bad it is. The counselors do not usher in new kids who do not know others and make them feel welcome or integrate them in the group. At lunch they do not watch to ensure the kids are eating or if they need help with anything so one day due to his yogurt spilling out in his lunch box, no one helped my son or even cared to notice so he just didn't eat lunch that day. After that I just refused to send him back as I did not trust him in their care and I met another Mom on the beach who sent her son to a different camp. When I shared my experience at Camp by the Sea she shared her experience from the summer of 2023 when she sent her son there. She went to pick up her son at the end of the day in the big gym and he was just sitting on the bench crying and no one noticed, cared or was there to help him. Never send your kids here. No one is watching them or caring for them and on top of that it is so expensive. Such a racket and so disappointing.
