Camp Anne is an overnight camp in Ancramdale for children and adults with developmental disabilities, run by the nonprofit AHRC New York City. Campers take part in a traditional camp program - arts, crafts, boating, swimming, sports, cooking, dance, music, and nature - within a structured setting aimed at building daily-living independence, communication, self-confidence, and social skills. Sessions are long: two eleven-day sessions for children and teens ages 5-20 and three twelve-day sessions for adults ages 21-59. The camp sits near the Berkshire foothills about 2.5 hours from New York City, in eight air-conditioned cabins, with camper-to-counselor ratios of 1:1, 2:1, or at most 3:1 depending on individual needs.

His counselor was amazing and so understanding to my grandson’s interest. My grandson’s big deal and severed challenges has been transition. He returned from camp with “zero transition issues”, became a “geologist”. Brought rocks as souvenirs, more independent, eating variety of foods, (had to make him a “meatball hero”😳), follows daily routine schedule, limited tech(takes breaks), takes his nature walks, discussion about the international staff and even learned about languages and their culture. We love the positive behaviors and routines picked up at camp Anne. Look forward to next year 👌💙

★ashimadaniel31My son was returned early from his trip They claimed he won't take his medication when all they had to do was put it in the syringe When they bought my son back home His clothes was filthy He smelled like he didn't have a bath The clothes in his bag was dirty and smelled They didn't wash any of clothes They had wet clothing also inside of his bag And they also forgot to return his medication! Horrible experience! They need better staffs and nurses
