Camp Anglewood

My oldest son loved this place. Our younger two definitely do not. The activities are great, classic camp activities but they do not vary much day to day or week to week. Not awful if you aren’t there all summer. There is no discipline or consequences for bullying, there is awful communication about any incidents that take place, and the prices are sky high. I have been mistakenly texted from the owner about her complaining about employees and parents. I have received a text on the last day of camp with less than 2 hours left in the season saying we needed to chat about my son’s behavior. But when asked what was needed I got “ Its a busy day for me . Sorry.” I guess, do better next year, son? Some of the longtime counselors and staff are fantastic but there just doesn’t seem to be a strong grip on policy or communication from the top.

This is probably an okay camp option for families starting out at the preschool level and growing up within the camp dynamic. For a new family coming in midsummer, there's no initiation into the camp culture, the routines, flag salutes, bathing suit changing areas, etc., nor was there an interest in making a new camper feel welcome. They have CITs (counselors in training) alone with the kids at times and these CITs don't have the maturity nor the responsibility to be handling groups of children. Our complaints about the CIT my child interacted with were met with defensiveness and dismissiveness. There was no effort from the camp to improve our experience and we ended up withdrawing our children, only to find out later that the CIT in question had been reassigned to duties not involving child interaction. It would have been professionally courteous and appreciated had they acknowledged our concerns were not only valid, but also handled accordingly. They also don't give refunds - even with very valid complaints and reasons for withdrawal.

Incredibly well run and wholesome experience that is great for partial or full summer campers. Kids spend their days swimming, boating, fishing, playing in the creek, crafting, and playing a ton of games and sports - all on a huge, magical property that is beautifully maintained and peaceful. What more could anyone ask for?

My children love this camp. The counselors love the children and the children love the counselors and daily scheduled activities. They fill the days with various outdoor activities to promote a life long love of nature and community. We love Anglewood

My kids love this camp. It's like a sleep away camp, but I get to see my kids every day. The staff are very friendly during drop off and pick up and my kids report loving their time with them during the day. Most are teachers during the rest of the year.
