Camp Alabama, in Choudrant between Monroe and Ruston, is an 80-acre accessible camp operated in partnership with MedCamps of Louisiana that runs free week-long overnight sessions for children and youth with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Each week serves a specific population with health professionals and trained staff, and activities include a wheelchair-accessible pool and zipline, canoeing, fishing, archery, arts and crafts, music, and drama. Families are never billed.

★★★★Theresa DowdenThe grounds and small lake are beautiful. In love with the programs they have and the structures built by LA Tech's architecture students. The grounds have lots of things to do for children, however it is a slight pain to navigate both my foot or by vehicle given some steep hills and the relatively long distance between structures.
