Kids are let to say the N word freely with little to no repercussions. I’ll never bring my kid there again. Wasn’t safe and I didn’t want him to mimic the behaviors of others.

Discrimination at Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley I experienced racial discrimination during my time there, and my concerns were not taken seriously by leadership. As an advocate for inclusive youth work, I believe it’s important that partners are aware of this issue. I hope this encourages reflection on the values we uphold in the organizations we support.

Great place. My wife and I got married 52 years ago when it was First Lutheran Church!

My son loves going here after school for a few years now. They have a bus direct from his school to the club. Amazing staff, lots of activities to keep kids entertained and engaged. Everything is age appropriate, from little ones to teens. Very flexible with parent pick-up during club hours. So, He's not "stuck there" until closing time. Child safety is primary with verification at the front office upon pick up. They even provide summer programs packed with fun learning activities and frequent field trips or just walks to neighborhood parks. They have a gymnasium, playground, kitchen and provide meals.

This place restores my faith in humanity! In the spirit of full disclosure, I'm on the Volunteer Board of Directors. I am happy to give my time because the staff here give kids time, emotional support and encouragement, and safety in a turbulent world. And they serve a hot meal if the kids want one. There's no politics, just help with homework, fun games and activities, books to read, and an ear to listen. 5 days a week, for less than you spent having pizzas delivered. Come see for yourself. Bring a friend. Amazing things are happening right here, right now, and you can be a part of it!
