I am writing to express my concern regarding an incident at the Boys and Girls Club in Scranton. My niece, who has autism, was treated in a discriminatory manner despite my informing the staff of her condition in advance. She was asked to be picked up early, and she was not provided with any food or snacks during her time there. Children with special needs deserve love, attention, and proper care. It is concerning that the director seemed to justify this treatment by saying it was because the children “like to run.” This approach is not appropriate and does not ensure an inclusive and supportive environment for all children. I would like this matter to be reviewed and addressed, and I would appreciate knowing what steps will be taken to prevent similar situations in the future.

I love the Boys Club. Such a good place for children for after school activities, Summer Camp, and programs, and just a place to go and have fun. I went from age 6 to 16 now my son goes to The Boys Club. So glad that they exist! Thank you on behalf of all the Boys Club kids all over the world!!!

staff and volunteers are always warm and welcoming, and the students love taking part in all of the wonderful activities that this place has to offer. definitely a fun and safe environment for children to go to after school as well as over some holiday breaks. a summer camp is available as well! i would rate it higher than a 5 if i could!
