Camp Bothin is a Girl Scouts of Northern California sleepaway camp tucked into a tree-covered canyon in Fairfax, Marin County, serving girls in grades 2 through 12. Its core “Classic Camp” programme groups campers by grade band — Discover (2–3), Imagine (4–5), Explore (6–8) and Adventure (9–12) — with archery, a high ropes course, zip-lining through the redwoods, theatre and fine arts in the Art Barn, a MakerSpace, STEM exploration, small animal care, an organic garden, swimming, outdoor cooking and nature exploration. Campers sleep in yurts, cabins or insulated year-round dorms. The camp is ACA-accredited; registration runs through the CampInTouch portal with a 10% deposit per session, and financial aid and council credits are available.

★★★★★DoveMedia PRSpent summers here with Girl Scouts. An amazingly beautiful and vast property to explore, with a wonderfully interesting history worthy of superb tales and ghost stories. The Girl Scouts use of the space is a perfect fit and I can see this being an excellent company retreat or family camp as well. The SF Bay GSA does an outstanding job managing staff and facilities. Many city children attend this camp, where there is a pool, as opposed to East Bay and North Bay children, typically drawn to mountain lakes and equestrian properties. As a result, many children camp and swim here for the first time. The lifeguards rotate as swim instructors - I had the pleasure of working at GSA camps throughout college. This is a great starter camp experience for city dwelling children and a wonderful, rewarding experience for those of us who have the pleasure of witnessing it. During my time here, I introduced children to swimming pools, taught and certified more than 300 girls in swimming. The girls learn but I learned more. Disabled children are welcome here and I likely would never have known the joy of showing a wheelchair-bound girl that the pool could set her free. GSA continues because they’ve never lost their focus in their commitment to girls. #CampBothinForever
