BookTrails is a Steamboat Springs-area nonprofit that runs off-grid outdoor literacy summer camps at its solar-powered Reading Ranch in Clark, on 500 acres of wilderness. Campers combine reading with hands-on outdoor experiences—building shelters, exploring stream ecosystems, and sketching outdoors—to build confidence and prevent summer learning loss. The program aims to foster a lifelong love of reading and the outdoors.

★★★★★April KrallMy boys just finished their third year at BookTrails Camp and they LOVE it. The curriculum is flexible to meet the kid at their own reading level. The counselors and engaged and fun and the administration is supportive and responsive. I was very impressed with how they managed COVID-19 precautions in a way that felt very safe and still allowed the kids to have an unbelievable experience. Would absolutely recommend. Can't wait until next year!
