Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS) is a nonprofit that runs hands-on, garden-based summer day camps at its Boise site. One-week camps for ages 6-14 (and a multi-week program for ages 10-16) have kids learning about food and growing through time in the garden, kitchen and farm stand. Camps run mornings, 9am to 12:30pm, five days a week.

Every single part of it was special, from picking the vegetables, to learning about their programs, to cooking and eating the most amazing food I’ve ever had. It felt like a luxury experience, but they made the whole thing so accommodating and welcoming. They even accommodated some dietary restrictions with ease. Playground has artificial turf and fun climbing structures. Splash pad has mix of small fountains and dump bucket.
