Powered by GoogleCardinal Run is a beautiful ballpark. Probably one of the cleanest and nicest places to play baseball. Lots of dedicated families and staff to make a good experience for everyone who visits.
We’ve been at Bluegrass Little League since 2018 - we have four sons who have played/are playing. A wonderful league with a culture that I’m proud to be a part of. I love that everyone is treated with respect - even the umpires. Highly recommend.
Love it. It's our kid's first year, and even though alot are just learning the game they all have fun. The only problems we have had are the umpire and the scoreboard keeper not putting the score on the board until the next inning. That wasn't fair to the kids, but I guess you got one bad apple everywhere.
Our family has participated in tee-ball and coach pitch with western for six seasons. It's a great organization, and my son loves it.
Used to be a great league. We were there for over 4 years. Assistant, head coaching, volunteering etc. In my opinion I would highly suggest that you pick another league for your child. Leadership of the league, including hiring the 2nd-3rd rate umpires, including parent reported umpire drug use on premises that was reported but no action taken, etc is not good. (Prior to a minors game in 2018) Scheduling is terrible... in fall it was very disorganized. Teams playing teams three times and other teams none. Practices at unsafe parks... glass on the field. Pick a league that is more organized, Has coaches who care and pushes their kids to win. Western League in Lexington is not it. They run coaches off that have any desire to be good. They want quiet, layed back family coaches. If you have any desire for the kids to improve, win they push you away with excuses. The kids are great, families are great. We have a lot of friends out there. (Maybe not after this review) But when you operate the way they do, people are going to leave. They cant keep kids long term. The good ones always leave. They struggle with the amount of kids every year. Its ran like a business heading out... they dont know how to advertise, bring in league revenue, keep the kids, coaches etc. There are much better, well ran, leagues that your kid and family can be involvef im. Western league is not it! It saddens be not to be a part of the league any longer. Anyone can contact me for more details. Could be the best league in Lexington... but it not.
