My daughter has learned a ton and always wants to come back, no matter how many times she's been. We go on walks and she starts foraging, teaching us about what's edible and how it can be used. 10 out of 5 stars.
My child attended both a single-day and a week-long camp here, and I truly can't recommend it highly enough. The location is breathtaking, offering a rich variety of environments and activities that kept my kiddo engaged and excited every day. The guides were phenomenal—genuinely kind and nurturing, while also encouraging independence and a spirit of exploration. Every day, my child came home muddy, happy, and beaming from ear to ear. During the week-long camp, there were a couple of days when she could have stayed home with us—but she chose to go to camp instead. That says it all! On the final day, parents were invited to visit for an hour, and my child was absolutely thrilled to show us all her favorite spots and activities. It was a truly incredible experience, and we’ll definitely be signing up again!
Blue River Forest Experience is such a beautiful offering, for children and adults alike. The land is beautiful with woods, creek, pond, horses, garden and chickens. The children are free to roam and connect with nature with thoughtful, loving guidance. I am so grateful we found this programming for our son, who is neurodivergent and benefits so much from testing his limits in nature and communing with the elements. I highly recommend their Forest School Summer camps, and even have Homeschooling programming and camps throught the year for kids in public school to stay connected to nature.* *EDIT after more experiences 2023: After experiencing their offerings now as an adult, I simply have to add another Star and share that: this place is the real deal. What Kelly D. is doing with this land - honoring and restoring it back to it's native embodiment both physically and spiritually, is invaluable work. The Women's Retreat was incredible. Full immersion in nature and so healing. Kinda changed my life. Perfect blend of spiritual and scientific knowledge of the land and native plants and communing with women in nature. I highly recommend the offerings for adults such as the Forest Therapy walks with Kelly, the Sound Baths, and workshops. Absorbing the healing medicine of this land and the knowledge and guidance Kelly provides to connect to and heal from nature is priceless.
What an amazing place! Our son just had spring break at blue river forest. Literally I can feel he is changing everyday I pick him up. The way the teachers taught is so modeling and powerful. The kids are going wild with nature but indeed behaving inside of their soul. I love to have my son come back for the summer break adventures!
I registred my sons for the Mud Warriors camp the last week of the summer. It was an amazing experience for us all. They literally came alive during the week of camp. I loved watching this as a mom. We spend quite a bit of time outdoors but the difference during their week in camp was their souls were literally nourished by their "teachers" (as Jacob and Liam like to call them 😉). I am so grateful to have discovered this amazing magical place. We all can't wait for our next experience here.
