The Black Hills Suzuki School runs the Black Hills String Retreat, a five-day summer camp for young string players entering grades 5-12 held at Cedar Canyon Camp near Rapid City, with guest faculty, cabin housing and a closing concert. A day camp for younger students is also offered. Founded in 1990, the retreat has grown to over 200 campers.
