Family friendly but the board members are also the coaches. They make it very clear they stack teams, give preferential treatment to some families and players. It used to be about teaching the kids but that has changed greatly since we started. Everyone wants to win but some coaches take it to a whole other level. It is not about coaching the kids, they take winning to a whole new level that isn't good. It breaks the spirit of the kids. This is little league not the MLB. Some coaches are more concerned with being on the board, playing up to certain parents, stacking their team, not teaching, and winning, they have lost sight of the game. They will even bump kids up or move them down a level just to ensure a win. Our family appreciates the parents and coaches that want to teach the children sportsmanship. We appreciate the board for all they do for the community. But realistically if you do not play up to certain people on the board your child will never have a chance. I have seen good coaches quit because of the favoritism and lack of fairness. Good players have left for other leagues. If you are thinking about starting your child at Bethlehem I personally think their T-Ball and Coach Pitch programs are excellent. Very family friendly. The "politics" of the league haven't tainted the game at that level. Past that it is a crap shoot. If you want to play the "game" and be on the A teams then teaching is out the window. It is all about winning at all cost. Poor sportsmanship at its finest for a little league. I will say this again, I appreciate the board. I do not want their job. But I do think there needs to be a change, bring teaching back to higher levels, and stop letting coaches that are on the board cherry pick their teams. Make it fair for every child not just the coach's (board member) favorites.

Bethlehem little league, is a wonderful nonprofit league that is all about fundelments in baseball. This is the best place for learning to be a team player and learning the fundamentals of baseball.
