Our daughters have attended Belvoir for the past six years, and it has become one of the most meaningful parts of their childhood. Each summer they return home a little more confident, a little bit more independent, and full of stories about old and new friendships and experiences that clearly matter to them. What stands out most is the environment that Belvoir creates. The staff manage to strike a rare balance: the girls feel supported and safe, but also encouraged to try things they would not normally attempt, and they come back proud of themselves for doing so. The friendships they build are genuine and lasting. It is incredible to see how quickly the camp community forms each year, and how those connections carry forward long after the summer ends. For our girls, camp is not just a place to spend time during the holidays - it is a place where they feel they belong and they look forward to going back every summer. We have also been consistently impressed by the care given to the girls' health and wellbeing. The Health Director does an exceptional job and knowing there is someone so attentive and thoughtful looking after the campers gives parents real peace of mind. As parents, there is something deeply reassuring about sending our daughters to a place that clearly cares about their growth as people, not just keeping them entartained. Year after year, Belvoir has helped our daughters develop resilience and confidence. We are grateful for the experience Belvoir gives them, and it has become a constant in our daughters' lives that we would never consider missing.

My daughter has been going to Belvoir for the past 3 summers and is counting down the days until she leaves for this summer. She is a second generation camper and I could not be happier with the camp, the instruction or the team. Belvoir Terrace is a place where my daughter has gained tremendous growth. Spending six and a half weeks away from home is a tall order for any kid, let alone one who has to travel cross country for it, experiences anxiety in new situations and away from her family, contends with big feelings, and works best when new plans and routines are scaffolded up in a 1:1 and reinforced way. Belvoir Terrace met my daughter exactly where she was, helped shore up her belief in herself, and gave her a breadth of new skills. At Belvoir my daughter dances, acts, sings, swims, and performs improv and musical theater. In her third year at Belvoir this year, she’ll add ceramics and Shakespeare scenes to the mix. The large and focused staff mean that personable and kind counselors support day to day living and planning, while the world class teachers provide inspiration, joy, and help kids build skills in wide range of pursuits Belvoir offers. Going to visit my daughter at camp is akin to visiting a settled college student - she’s comfortable on campus, managing her day and schedule, and diving head first into the challenges of every class, all while building and growing friendships that last well beyond camp. My daughter is a more confident person because of Belvoir, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Belvoir is a magical place for girls to grow in their independence and their learning. The opportunities for lifelong friendships and incredible instruction are the best of all worlds, balancing a true camp experience with education. My husband and I always talk about how grateful we feel for Belvoir in our family’s life. On top of it all, the staff are doting and attentive, regularly texting us updates on our girls. The health center director of many years is incredible and always phones about any scrapes or bumps and always texts with follow up - great for any worried parents’ hearts. Just wanted to put this all out there for anyone who is considering giving their daughter this wonderful life experience!

She calls it her “happy place.” At Belvoir, she hones her strengths with guidance from top-rate instructors, and she also finds new, creative outlets she’d never have time to pursue during the school year. Diane Marcus, the Owner/Director of the camp, is an extraordinary leader. She appreciates bright, creative kids who are interested in the arts, and she knows how to engage them. Every camper’s experience at Belvoir is bespoke, but at the same time, each enjoys camaraderie and connection. Belvoir is a warm, encouraging, and special place where every girl can tap into her creative side and enjoy the support of a community that celebrates artistic expression. It is an invaluable respite from the childhood rat race; if only I had known about it when I was a kid.
