Powered by GoogleThe classes they offer for kids, and adults are fantastic. The facility is always so clean and everybody who works there is very friendly and welcoming,. I love seeing such a vibrant creative community in the heart of downtown. Stop by next time you are downtown, you won't be disappointed 😃
Exhibits: Spectacular art work made by skilled artists. Gift shop: A small, quaint shop filled with beautiful and affordable treasures. A little sitting area/cafe is located adjacent to the gift shop. An instructor was there giving directions to her summer art class. I loved it! Library/Book Store: As an avid reader and poet, this was probably my favorite spot at the Bay Arts Alliance. My group and I truly enjoyed our visit and I encourage folks to visit if you’re ever in the Panama City Beach area.
WOW, talk about an amazing set of paintings about the Military and First Responders. The Artist Chris was super nice, allowed us to take pictures of his artwork(there were more on display and for sale). Loved how he added a twist to what we would normally see. Example the picture of the military woman soldier is holding her child before deployment and there are angel wings behind her as she doesn't make back home - I believe the title of the painting was "She gave her all", or of the service member honoring a fallen soilder on the field, and the hands of Jesus are present. My favorite was the one of the officers with his head down - it to me was very humbling. There was a photo display upstairs called "Remembrance" and a gift shop too!
Update June 1, 2024. Since HX Michael hit, there have been no Backstage Pass performances as they were held in the Civic Center that has not been used since the HX. Tonight's performance by Will Thompson Band was upstairs at the Panama City Center for the Arts. Small setting, but it was a great show! We always love it when its Backstage Pass time of year! Always great performers, and if you love live music, this is a great place to be every Friday in August and Sept. $5 admission charge per person. They serve beer, wine, and water for a minimal price.
I am from Panama City and my wife and I were bored with nothing to do. We decided to go to the art center. The staff were more than helpful and friendly. I do not know much about art but walking around and viewing the exhibits was very entertaining and we will be coming back. The main exhibit was art made from paper cutting and wow the exhibits were phenomenal. I was blown away by the meticulous precision the artists displayed in their pieces. We will cone back.
