J-Camp is the summer day camp of the Barshop Jewish Community Center in San Antonio, serving children entering kindergarten through 10th grade in weekly and four-week sessions with before- and after-care. ★Shanna PeakUnfortunately, this childcare learning center was not a good fit for my child or our family. From the beginning, the environment felt unprofessional compared to other centers we toured. Staff members often dressed very casually in leggings and clothing that did not seem appropriate for a professional childcare setting. I was also uncomfortable with the atmosphere in the office. During one visit, I overheard office staff speaking negatively about another employee while parents were present, which came across as rude and unprofessional. It did not give me confidence in the leadership or overall environment of the center. Most importantly, I never felt fully comfortable leaving my child there, and that peace of mind is extremely important when choosing childcare. I would recommend that parents tour carefully and consider whether the environment matches what they are looking for in a learning center.

★Anna SharpeThe pool situation at this facility is awful. In the summer the pool is over 84° and in the winter it’s below 80°. They never cover the pool so there are warm spots and cold spots throughout. Also, after every practice I got to pluck leaves out of my swim suit because the pool is always dirty with leaves and bugs. This is not a pool for competitive swimmers so if you are on MOST, I recommend going to Blossom.
