I am kind of surprised I am the first person to review this camp. However, here is my opinion. I have been to many camps before, but this one is probably not one of my favorites. I'll start with the problems. The number one problem with this camp is the buddy system. My god, where do I start? Basically, if you have ever been to a camp before, and if you needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you would probably wake someone up to be sure you're okay. Otherwise, you could probably go wherever you wanted as long as you didn't leave the campgrounds. At this camp, they force you to have a buddy WHEREVER you go. This means that just leaving your cabin to retrieve something or to put something away, you HAVE to have a buddy, no questions asked. I remember I went to return a sleeping bag to a shed, which was only about ten yards away from my cabin. There was also two counselors outside the shed. I walked towards it, and all they did was look at me and tell me to go back and get a buddy. I tried to complain that they were right friggin in front of me, therefore ensuring my "safety" but they didn't care. So I had to bother someone else's time just to put away a sleeping bag. Ok, that is ridiculous! They have LITERALLY MISSED the point of having a buddy with you!!! I know safety is a concern, but really! Speaking of safety, my number two problem with this camp is the EXTREMES they have to safety. The cabins are no normal cabins. They have to have THE brightest emergency exit signs in existence just to tell you where the exit is. And what's worse is that you can't shut it off. I lost so many hours of sleep because of those stupid exit signs. Finally, I felt a little out of place. Honestly, I couldn't really fit in because everyone was just so rowdy and annoying. Also, before I joined this camp they said that we could "stargaze and go on night walks." Yeah, that never happened. I was extremely disappointed because that was one of the main reasons I went to this camp in the first place! The only things that save this camp from a one-star review are one: the environment. Some of the views I got to see and some of the nature I got to experience were magnificent, and some of the games I got to do were fun. Number two: the food. The food is delicious, without a doubt. Linda is the chef/cook, and she serves these sweet bread pieces everyone calls "Linda's Rolls." Those things are GREAT. Besides these pros, however, this camp is pretty bad. Is it the worst? No. But it is pretty restrictive. The buddy system and the overuse of safety really bothered me. I probably will not return to this camp because of these stupid rules. But, maybe you can enjoy it.

I thought this was a good camp, but they would focus more on the kids that were great in the fishing then neglect the kids that weren't so good in fishing. This really bothered me because whenever I was being taught how to fly fish someone who is better at it than me would catch a fish and then everyone who was "Helping "me would go to the other kid and praise them while I would not know how to cast. There was also a very stupid buddy system rule. I don't mind having a buddy system for when someone has to go to the bathroom or go to the nurse but it gets ridiculous when you go 5 feet out of your cabin just to have counselors Yell at you to get a buddy. There was also times where anybody would a banded me and I would get in trouble for it. Other than that it was a great camp to spend a week at. They had great food, nice and friendly counselors, and Great trips. But not a place to go if you have never fished in your life. I know I put some very negative thoughts in peoples minds about this place but it is a very nice place and I would recommend it to people who know how to fish
