Awesome Kids! After School and Summer Camp Programs

Awesome Kids has been an incredible experience for our two kiddos (7 and 9). They LOVE going after to their after-school program and to their camp days. It's not uncommon to hear them both chanting the positive mantras at home the coaches teach them. They love the program and coaches so much that they even play their version of Awesome Kids at home, pretending to be coaches and campers. We are so happy we found Awesome Kids!

Situation resolved and the focus is back on their excellent care. The childcare itself at Awesome Kids has been very good. The coaches are kind, engaged, and our children enjoyed their time there. From a programming and day-to-day care perspective, we were happy with the experience. Unfortunately, the administrative and billing support has been extremely frustrating. Since May, we have repeatedly requested dependent-care receipts with standard FSA-required information (child names, provider EIN, dates of service, etc.). Despite multiple follow-ups over several months and assurances that this would be addressed, we have still not received documentation that allows reimbursement. This lack of follow-through on basic billing needs has created unnecessary stress. It’s disappointing, because the quality of care is strong, but the customer service and administrative support do not match it.

Our foster daughter has been enjoying the Awesome Kids after school program a lot! She often talks to us about different games they play there, and ways to be respectful. She brings it home and asks if we can do it too! She taught me about a hand gesture that means "same", and we use it at home now, too. She loves earning the opportunity to play at Kid Cave - I can tell she is very proud of herself, too! The staff are out of this world smart, compassionate and I can tell they care a lot about every kid there. Our foster kid says she wishes there was a way to give Awesome Kids a one thousand star review!

Awesome Kids has been such a life saver for us. We learned the hard way last year that we really needed a place like Awesome Kids. Our daughter has always been very social, and coming home right after school while we tried to finish up our work day just didn’t work for any of us. When we met with the Awesome Kids team, we knew this would be the perfect fit for us all. Our daughter loves going there every day after school and begs us to enroll her in the extra days and weekend events they sometimes have. And the great thing is they teach her life skills and incentivize kind behavior. We feel really fortunate to have been able to get her a spot here. This team is great!

My daughter (9) attends the after school program and the Jukado program upstairs currently. She attended the summer program this past summer and after school last year as well. Each season, the coaches reach out to set some goals with me for her. We talk through success stories and opportunities as far as behavior, socializing, discipline, etc. Mu kiddo really enjoys the socialization she gets at Awesome Kids and the coaches are great at working with her when he emotions get too big and she needs to take a moment. Coach Jennifer is has great energy and, along with her team, makes a positive impact on my kiddo and many others. Pictures are from a parade through Westbrook in spring 2024.
