Athens Y Camp is operated by some of the most amazing people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. My family has been coming to Athens Y Camp since they opened in 1898 and I have no plans in stopping the tradition. From a small boy, to a grown adult, I’ve spent over a decade at Athens Y Camp as a camper and as a counselor. I couldn’t count how many memories and values I gained from this place. The Paradise of Youth, where God and good times are friends.

It is such a good camp this is my fourth year going it is absolutely amazing fun and it gives us time to spend with god and our friends instead of phones we have fun I mostly don’t like tubing or rock sliding I’m just not a strong swimmer and I probably will tan more than swim or I may do some other activity’s the counselors are very nice I think we should have like a 6 minute shower time because sometimes I don’t have all the shampoo out of my hair and it’s annoying but it’s okay it over all just a good camp and I love it I’m probably staying for two weeks this year I don’t know what session yet cause I’m going with three other girls the same session. I definitely recommend going there it’s a good camp!💕

AYC is hands down one of the best experiences of my youth, I daydream about how I would love to spend one more summer here as a kid. Made some great friendships and had an even better time being a counselor. Many life lessons learned in the process as well! For those who didn’t have a good experience it sounds like little effort was put in to try new things and get out of your comfort zone. Whenever I’m back in the area I always stop by to see how the place is doing.

We finally decided to try our local summer camp, and we are so glad we did! From 11-year-old’s perspective- fun camp, good food, and nice counselors. Activities included fishing, tubing, swimming, the blob, hiking, social gatherings, and a bonfire. From parent’s perspective- price was in line with other camps, plenty of communication prior to camp, easy check in and check out process, and online photo posts each evening of camp. Camp counselors cheerfully greeted us at our car for check-in and helped my child to the cabin with his belongings, which eased anxiety for the both of us. Check in on Sunday and check out on Saturday allowed for a maximum amount of fun for the week. My kid is already ready to go back for another week!

I Grew up going to this camp, and it was the best experience a young kid could ask for. (2007-2014) I can’t belive some of these reviews I’m seeing! The food was 10/10 Fantastic. And the place was overall clean and amazing. It’s a boys camp! Grow a pair! And btw we did get ice cream! You got it once you got back to camp! This camp taught boys to be boys with plenty of great life lessons to go along with it! I saw someone complaining about the bungalows on the lake? We hiked ONE mile to a lake house with bungalows, where we all get to go tubing on the lake? How are you complaining about that? If you are serious about letting your kid get the opportunity to go this camp, DO NOT let these reviews discourage you… One of the Best experiences of my life…
