I drove my daughter to rehearsal last night, and she was overflowing with nervous energy. They would be doing a read-through of the script, and a cold read in front of a crowd is understandably anxiety inducing for a new reader. “Sit next to someone you trust. Someone who you feel comfortable asking for help,” I suggested. “But that’s everyone,” she replied. That’s the environment they have created in their musical theatre program. It’s supportive, encouraging, and confidence building. And it comes from the top down. Artworks is a safe, happy place for my daughter. She got in the car after class, feeling confident and happy, asking when she gets to go back.

Sadly, I don’t recommend this dance studio, basically the beginner hiphop, or the one for younger kids. They don’t teach you how to dance or any techniques, they just make u learn dance moves & random choreos, and instead of teaching you dance at the last minutes they make u play literal kid games. That is not a class.

My daughter was a new dancer to Artworks Academy, and it was overall a negative and defeating experience that ultimately ended with her not only leaving the studio, but dance all together. To summarize, the instructors were short and dismissive whenever my daughter was struggling to understand the techniques and asked for help, classes typically started late and got out early, and the studio was dysfunctionally managed (they could never seem to get our account info correct, despite me reaching out to the owner who wouldn’t return my emails). Additionally, the dance studio was generally chaotic each time my daughter went to class. Just a disappointing situation for my daughter who used to love dance prior to Artworks. 💔

Artworks Academy is the perfect fit for our son. He participated in a summer camp when he was five years old and fell in love. Since then, he has attended multiple camps, participated in multiple Junior Players productions, multiple Junior Production Company productions, was invited to Mini-Musical Theater Company and is now a member of the Musical Theater Company. He tells me that if they had a college, he would attend it when he grows up. All the teachers have been respectful, taught our son so much, encouraged him to be his best self and been there for him every step of the way. One of my personal favorites is how they cast each role to the students who deserve it. They don't play favorites. It really gives each student a chance to grow!

Fabulous teachers that are kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. My daughter has blossomed in dance in the past few months and at 5yo tells me she’s working on keeping her hips square. My stage shy son loved performing the Wizard of Oz, and now wants to work on dance. They encourage the kids, and celebrate their victories. Such an amazing and nurturing environment.
