★★★★★Local Guide

Arsha Vidya Gurukulam is a spiritual retreat and learning center founded by Swami Dayananda Saraswati. The atmosphere is serene, and visitors are offered free vegetarian meals. The Gurukulam provides authentic teachings in Vedanta, Sanskrit, and Yoga. The campus houses the Medha Dakshinamurthy Temple, where daily rituals include Ganapathi Homam at 5:00 AM, followed by Rudrabhishekam. Another Rudrabhishekam is performed in the evening. Comfortable cottages are available for overnight stays, though advance booking is required. A truly uplifting destination for spiritual seekers, beautifully blending tradition, knowledge, and tranquility.

★★★★★Ravi Jaishankar

The absolute best place in North America for authentic Advaita Vedanta learning. Rooted deeply in tradition, this lineage is unparalleled for its incredible clarity of teaching and focus on the heart of non-duality. It is a must for any sincere spiritual seeker to learn the principals of Advaita as they are life changing.

This is an amazing Hindu temple/retreat place. We come here at least twice a year given it’s far distant from our place. The management that runs this place deserves a huge kudos for the tremendous work they do in maintaining this place so clean and conducting various events, holy discourses and the top notch unlimited free food that’s served for the visitors and devotees. There’s also a retreat attached to this temple premises. Dhakshinamoorthy is the main deity here and they have a nice meditation facilities enabled within the temple. If you are in Saylorsburg or in Stroudsburg visiting the Sringeri temple, do drop in here.

This is the best place to indulge for a Vedantin. The camps and retreats are offered throughout the year on major holidays and during summer. The Dakshinamurti temple is serene and so is the Dayalayam, which is not to be missed when you are here. You can sit in peace to meditate at either of these places. The overall atmosphere of this beautiful Ashram is so warm and welcoming. They do have a wonderful bookstore and a cafeteria. It is a one stop shop for someone who wants to partake in the teachings of the renowned Swamijis and Swaminijis in an Ashram setting.

Very idyllic A serene place filled with huge tall trees and lush green vegetation. The cabins are located a lovely green setting. Wonderful place for meditation and to self reflect. There not too many deities, just the main Dakshinamurthy next to the meditation hall. They have Bhagavad Gita discourses meditation camps. They have regular daily pooja and homam! The staff were wonderful and very friendly.
