Armory Youth Project
Private
The Armory Youth Project runs free out-of-school and summer camp programming for Manistee County students in grades 6-12, with tutoring, sports, music, cooking classes and art, plus a free meal and snack each day. Programming emphasizes recreation, arts and music, and leadership development meant to build confidence and life skills. The nonprofit also partners with Young Life and each summer sends a group of Manistee County students to camp. It works out of a converted armory at 555 1st St. in Manistee and is a 501(c)(3).
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Armory Youth Project directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Great asset to our community. I'm so glad there's somewhere safe the kids can hang out at during these colder months.
This is the old armory, we went there to throw the disc golf course. It was very short but still challenging. I would recommend this course to beginners for sure!
A place for 6th through 12th graders to get tutoring help, learn new things, play/practice sports. Prom Boutique for Homecoming and Prom dances.
This is an absolutely amazing place. What they do for the kids in the community is incredible and well though out!
