I’ve been coming to the YMCA to strength train and have recently started pop pilates with Yvonne, mat Pilates with holly and a yoga sculpt class which is only done by the instructor when she is subbing for someone. I had never been to a class before and let me tell you I LOVE LOVE it. Trainers are always willing to assist when you don’t know how to use certain equipment, everyone is very kind- definitely a judgment free zone. We need more yoga sculpt!!!!!

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the YMCA Harker Heights for the incredible opportunities you have provided to my daughter and so many other young athletes through your volleyball program. The camps have been outstanding, and the leadership of Coach Moore, along with David and the entire staff, has made a meaningful impact. Your dedication, professionalism, and passion truly stand out. Thank you for fostering a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for these children. It is evident that your volunteers genuinely care and take great pride in the important work they do. My daughter is already looking forward to the next season and future camps. We deeply appreciate everything you do.

Coach Moore is the best coach. Not only does she teach volleyball but she also teaches leadership, teamwork and self confidence. I also appreciate her oldest daughter, Kayleigh, helping and mentoring the girls. She is a great part of this community and we are so thankful we have found her and the ASYMCA.

The YMCA gyms offer much more than many other gyms, along with a friendly environment. All staff are friendly and helpful, especially the instructors. Most of the instructors I've worked with are wonderful; they are very helpful and friendly. My personal favorites are Yvonne in pop Pilates, water acrobatics, and yoga. She makes the classes a perfect balance between challenging and fun, motivating, with a wonderful personality that completes the perfect experience. I also love all the Zumba classes offered by the Y with four different instructors. I mainly have time on Saturdays to attend due to work, where I get to do pop Pilates and Zumba. The instructors are Yvonne, Trina, Tanisha, and Luisa—all of whom are absolutely fantastic, very encouraging, and supportive. I can't rave enough about any of them because they truly make the classes a wonderful experience, especially for someone who can’t particularly say they are great at dancing. I wish there was a yoga class with Holly in the evening after 6pm; she substituted for Yvonne, and I absolutely loved her class. The last class I want to mention is Silver Sneakers with Pia. While it’s targeted at older adults, a young person like me still finds it to be a fun yet challenging workout. Pia offers several alternatives to adjust the difficulty, and everyone, including Pia, is very kind and great to talk to. Moving beyond the classes, this gym offers so much more than just great workouts. The environment is very supportive, with friendly people and staff. I have never felt judged and genuinely enjoy my time there. They feature several up-to-date machines for a complete workout, including stair steppers, treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and weight machines. They also offer free weights, a track, and much more, providing a wide variety of options. There’s a lap pool and therapy pool available for classes, and you can also purchase private or group swim lessons. I personally took private lessons with Thaís, who is absolutely wonderful. She was very helpful, funny, enjoyable to be around, and highly skilled, providing helpful feedback to improve my swimming. She is currently the aquatics coordinator, and I highly recommend her for a truly great experience. While this gym is truly wonderful with helpful staff and friendly people, I give it four stars. There are minor annoyances, such as events that you might not be aware of which can make parking difficult and the gym chaotic. There was also a time I went for lap swimming and was kicked out because someone rented the pool—something the lifeguards knew nothing about until that moment. It felt very unorganized and upsetting; I had brought my swim gear expecting to swim, only to be turned away. I didn’t even have my workout clothes or shoes, so I couldn’t work out either. It was a complete waste of time and an unenjoyable experience. Overall, the gym has made some mistakes I don’t condone, but despite that, it remains one of the best gyms I’ve been to.

We had a great experience in YMCA sports program this past season. As a volunteer Volleyball Coach it was great to have information put out in advance the games started on time, equipment was already up and ready to go, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The sports director Amber Love and her male assistant was always there if we had questions and I want to thank them for making this season a great one and we look forward to the spring season. The practice schedule and game schedules were synced and well organized. Again, the games started on time and were well officiated and rules were followed. If you are looking for a great place to introduce your kids to sports or volunteer this is the place. The leadership is amazing and the sports department has really turned up a notch. I definitely would recommend it!
