The Tidewater Arts & Ecology Camp, run by Arm-of-the-Sea Theater, is a week-long day camp for ages 8-13 that pairs river science with puppet theater. Campers study the ecology of the Esopus Creek through fishing, creek excursions, water play, and animal and plant identification, and make art through puppetry, mask making, music, singing, drawing, and painting, closing each session with a sharing presentation for parents. Three sessions run 10:00am-4:00pm at the Tidewater Center, a waterfront cultural park in Saugerties, with 18 spaces per session.

Nestled in the bucolic setting of the Esopus Creek, the Arm-Of-The-Sea provided a wonderful evening of entertainment, education and community. The hand made costumes and sets were fantastic and the style of presentation was certainly unique. I really appreciated the historic presentation of the heritage of the area. The narrator was spectacular handling all of the sound effects, playing the music and being the voices of the characters. It felt very nostalgic, almost 1970's/1960's.
