The Arizona Sailing Foundation runs a Junior Sailing Program on Tempe Town Lake for children ages 8-12, teaching sailing on Optimist dinghies with US Sailing-certified instructors and safety boats. Classes are held on weekends (Saturday and Sunday over two weekends) from 8:30am to 12:30pm at the North Shore Marina.

Value for money is wonderful. My son, having never been on the water in his life, can pull a boat from storage, get all the rigging set up and launch it with minimal help from adults. All of the people involved in the program have been wonderful and we cannot wait to sign up for the intermediate session in the fall.
