The APJCC Preschool at the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos runs a summer camp for children ages 18 months to 5 years, part of the JCC's broader Camp Shalom. The teachers put a great emphasis on helping the kids learn to communicate kindly with each other while also maintaining their personal boundaries. Every day when my daughter walked into her classroom, her teachers made her feel special and wanted there, and she was always happy to go to school. I’ve been happy with the diversity of the students and teachers at the school as well. While the school does celebrate Shabbat with the kids by making challah each Friday in the classrooms and observes Jewish holidays, there are plenty of families and teachers at the preschool who don’t observe these customs at home, and that only adds to the richness of the community.
