The American Baseball Foundation is a Birmingham nonprofit that runs the BASIC summer program (recently rebranded The SmartPlay), a baseball-based youth-development program that has served hundreds of children from schools across Central Alabama. Programming pairs baseball instruction with character and life-skills development for area youth.
