Amara Yoga & Arts
Private
A yoga studio and art gallery in Urbana's Lincoln Square that runs weekly summer camp sessions for ages 4-11 from early June through early August. Mornings combine arts and crafts, a kids yoga class, outdoor free time and a larger themed art project; afternoons are less structured, with self-directed art-making, an optional advanced yoga class, or quiet time and outdoor play. Weekly themes range from mandalas and self-portraits to sewing and weaving, and the program is taught by a longtime art and kids-yoga instructor.

Powered by GoogleSuch a great place, with no Yoga experience everyone is so welcoming, as a new student every teacher would recognize me as new and talk to me helping with each class, there are so many classes for every level, now that I have been attending for about 8 months can't imagine not doing it.
I have greatly enjoyed my time here. The teachers are kind and very knowledgeable. I unfortunately cannot recommend based on personal experience that anyone trying to do yoga as ptsd treatment go here. I can only hope others experience is different.
I have been practicing yoga for 13 years. I've been to many yoga studios around the country in my life, but Amara is the first studio I've ever chosen to get a membership to. Every class I've attended has been wonderful. The teachers are excellent, respectful, and kind. The other students are very welcoming, as well. I'm so happy to have found a yoga studio to call home in Urbana.
Amara was recommended to me and I am so thankful I gave it a try. They offer so many different yoga classes at a variety of different times throughout the week. This is the best yoga studio I’ve been to. I really appreciate the calm atmosphere and the mindfulness that each yoga instructor brings to class. I highly recommend this place because it is amazing and affordable!
I am a studio assistant at Amara and just recently started about 2 weeks ago. Amara offers unique classes and workshops for inexperienced (like myself) to experienced yoga friends! If you're a member you are able to take guests and if you're an assistant you get help tidy up the studio but also get the perks of taking the classes that are offered here! I have taken classes before but have never felt inclined to go back due to lack of community and atmosphere. The staff, instructors and community here is definitely one that is vibrant, welcoming and work together as a team. If you're looking for a place to learn yoga or simply relax and practice yoga with experienced instructors and a wonderful community–Amara offers a unique experience for all friends!
