Alta Mons is the outdoor ministry of the Valley Ridge District of the United Methodist Church, on more than 850 acres in Shawsville. Summer offers week-long, half-week and day camps for youth from kindergarten through 12th grade, blending arts and crafts, low ropes, field games and Nature Hut sessions with Christian chaplain talks and campfire worship; each Wednesday resident campers do 'Home in the Woods,' cooking over a fire and sleeping under the stars.

The cabins are very affordable and the staff are super friendly. This is a perfect vacation for people with children. They have a couple if hiking trails. One that ends in a beautiful waterfall! They also have a pond for fishing and creeks as well. Lots of wildlife. One of my favorite places to get away and reset!
