I used to live in Islamorada and on my days off, I would drive more than 70 miles just to practice with Sensei Yap. In fact, I helped paint the dojo when she moved to Hollywood. Sensei Yap is a great Teacher and I've learned a lot. I wish I can find somebody like her in California. Kudos to you Sensei Yap!

Our family has had such a wonderful experience at Aikido of South Florida in Hollywood. My son Luke has grown so much since starting here. The instructors are incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and truly care about the kids they teach. They focus not only on physical training but also on respect, discipline, confidence, and focus. The dojo environment is welcoming, supportive, and very family-oriented. You can really feel the sense of community and camaraderie between the students and instructors. Luke looks forward to every class, and it's been amazing to see how much more confident and focused he has become both at home and at school. As a parent, I also really appreciate the personalized attention they give each child and the positive structure they provide. It's clear that the instructors are passionate about what they do and are dedicated to helping every student grow. I highly recommend Aikido of South Florida to any parent looking for a martial arts program in the Hollywood area that teaches not just self-defense, but also valuable life skills.

I was tired of my usual gym routine. Even though I worked out regularly, I constantly felt stressed and was never able to find a true sense of calm. My doctor recommended trying martial arts, explaining that it could be both physically challenging and mentally relaxing. After some research, I decided to try Aikido of South Florida—and I’m so glad I did. From my very first visit, I was welcomed by Stephanie, who is absolutely fabulous. She was warm, attentive, and truly listened to my concerns. Her genuine care made me feel immediately comfortable and supported. This dojo is fantastic. Stephanie took the time after class to work with me one-on-one, and after just a few sessions, I could feel a real difference. Her teaching style is both physically engaging and mentally grounding. The fluid movements she emphasizes have improved my self-control, helped me release built-up stress, and redirected my energy in positive ways through the many disciplines of Aikido. I highly recommend this dojo for both adults and children, for its discipline and clean environment. From my own experience and what I’ve observed, everyone—regardless of age—is treated with respect, kindness, and encouragement.

As a parent whose son is a member of this Aikido Dojo, I cannot say enough for its exceptional aftercare program for kids. From the moment we enrolled our son, we knew we had found a gem that offered so much more than just martial arts training. Sensei Stephanie is not only skilled in Aikido techniques but also is great in nurturing and guiding young kids. Our son has grown not only in his physical abilities but also in his sense of discipline and respect for others.

As a parent I m extremely lucky this place exists. My son started like a year and a half ago. He used to have attention and behavior problems but since he started attending His grades and behavior at school improved significantly. They teach not only martial arts but discipline, leadership, productivity and self accomplishment. The dojo offers after care with pick ups and one day camps - perfect solutions for working parents. I sincerely recommend it.
