The Actors Conservatory Theatre (The ACT) is a Lewisville children's theater (since 1999) running one-week summer camps for ages 4-18. Options include an intro-to-musical-theatre camp for ages 4-7, production camps such as Camp Rock and Shrek Jr. for ages 7-14, and a teen intensive for ages 13-18; each week trains campers in dance, voice and acting toward a fully produced musical.

★★★★★Alexis McCleskeyI can't say enough wonderful things about this children's theatre! My son (6) joined for his very first play, Alice in Wonderland, and he had an amazing experience. Aside from being a ton of fun and very professional, the overall culture and atmosphere was one of the best I've experienced. The staff was warm and welcoming to my son and me, the parents were happy and not the crazy, overbearing theatre parents you would expect, and the kids (ages 6-18) were kind, encouraging, inclusive, and just wonderful human beings. The talent among the kids is outstanding and instead of finding divas and stage hogs we found the best bunch of kids we've ever been around. The production value, stage props, music quality, practice and volunteer time...all of it was more amazing than I could have expected! Thank you SO much to the entire staff and the kids for a one-of-a-kind experience that we will cherish for years to come!

My kids were shy at first, but ALL the kids were so kind and inviting the directors where amazing! It was so much fun to be a part of it all. This children's theatre is amazing!

Fast forward 5 years later, and the growth we have seen in her is absolutely incredible. She has become outgoing, confident, and comfortable speaking in front of others in a way we never could have imagined. Between the amazing classes, the main stage productions, and the annual awards show they put on for the actors and actresses, ACT has created something truly special for kids and families. Not only has our daughter grown tremendously, but we as parents have learned so much ourselves and have met some wonderful families along the way. The people who run and manage the theatre genuinely care about these kids and pour so much love, encouragement, and hard work into everything they do. Over the years we tried just about every activity you can think of from cheerleading, soccer, basketball, softball, dance, etc…. and we often had to push our daughter to go to practices. But ACT was different. This was the first place where she truly found something she loved. Now she looks forward to rehearsals and performances, constantly asks to sign up for more shows, and has found a place where she feels safe, accepted, loved, and encouraged to be herself. We truly cannot say enough amazing things about ACT. If you have a shy child or are simply looking for a positive place for your child to learn, grow, and build confidence, we highly recommend Actors Conservatory Theatre. We are so thankful we gave ACT a chance.
★★★★★hope garciaI’m BLOWN AWAY! I had no idea this gem of a local children’s theater existed until recently. We took our two boys (3 & 5) to see Alice in Wonderland, and MY GOODNESS!!! The acting and facial expressions were spot on, the dance numbers had me absolutely entertained (great choreography & TAP dancing!?), the makeup and costumes were so impressive because they showed such creativity in turning ordinary articles of clothing and other accessories into extraordinary interpretations of their characters. I loved how so many children of different ages and skill level were able to participate and get a special experience on stage. Just fantastic. My heart is so happy & fulfilled. We will for sure be coming back for more shows.

They love the instructors, and have made a lot of friends. Most importantly, they have learned a great deal about theater, grown in their abilities and their confidence.
