Acres for Joy
Private
Acres for Joy is a nonprofit horse ranch in Eleva serving Chippewa Valley youth, many facing health or other challenges. It partners with horses and volunteers to provide equine-assisted learning, mentoring, and outdoor activities such as gardening and animal care, with need-based youth scholarships through Pleasant Valley Youth Ranch. It is an equine mentoring program rather than a conventional scheduled day camp.

Powered by GoogleWent here with my sister that works here and it was so much fun got to pet some horses and the ponies they have there. They also put up a basketball hoop and also a tennis court which is my type of stuff to play because I’m only 18 but it was so much fun I want to learn eventually how to ride a horse
Awesome experience! The people here are extremely compassionate! The animals are adorable!
So acres for joy is a non profit that help kids with diabetes. I believe lessons for these kids are free, but you may want to contact them directly to be sure. They also do work with kids from the academy as well as give lessons to anyone pay for them. We've had our daughter out there several times now and Mel has been great. She is the person that teaches and instructs not only riding lessons but how to brush, saddle, and care for the horses. They are very patient, but also firm with instruction. I would recommend them to anyone looking at beginning or a moderate skill level looking to improve. Mel also does leather work, saddle repair etc.
Amazing Horses there, They had so many great activities there to get the horse back riding phase. The Staff are so nice when they were helping me ride the horses and so good with handling and grooming the horses.
My g'daughter Kamaree had a awesome time the week she spent at camp. The staff is amazing!
