As someone who has played, coached, trained, studied, and loved soccer for over 40 years, I'm not interested in choosing a club for my kids that is anything other than outstanding. The game is too beautiful to have it be blemished by mediocre coaching, leadership, and experiences. Sure, yes, with every club you'll experience occasional blemishes and hiccups, but with VBR that is at a minimum --- way less than with previous experiences in the area. Without any doubt, VBR is the best club in SW Virginia, whether a child plays for pleasure or to aspire to playing at the next level. What's to like about VBR? - The impressive list of places that the most advanced and committed players have gone on to play (Arsenal in the English Premiere League, ACC schools like UVA and VT as well as *plenty* of other strong D1, D2, and D3 schools, youth national teams, etc.) - The trips to (Iceland and other parts of) Europe to play in high level tournaments. - The league (CCL) that the most committed players participate in. - The empathy shown to players with financial need. - The nuanced understanding of the game that is being passed down from the director of coaching. - The fiscally responsible way that the club grows its training facilities. There's *a lot* to like about this club and I'm very pleased that my kids are a part of it.
