I recently attended Camp Ballibay as a camper for 4 weeks as of the summer of 2025. It was an amazing performance and I met many great people at camp! The food was great, the counselors were nice, and the people were super nice. It was a great experience for me, and I will defidentally be returning next summer.

My daughter attended Camp Ballibay this past summer. She usually goes to a more typical camp with camping, hiking and water activities, etc. She wanted to try something new and she is a talented artist, so Camp Ballibay seemed like a good fit. Unfortunately, she did not have the experience she was hoping for. She was teased and many of the kids were unkind. She managed to make it through middle school with no bullying/teasing/mean kids, so I was so sad to hear that she was treated that way at summer camp of all places. Prior to Ballibay, she had always loved summer camp and had always felt the experience was empowering. After she returned from Camp Ballibay, she is still working through some insecurities she developed because of the unkind things people said to her. She also described the art program as weak and that her last camp, which was focused on outdoor activities, had a more robust art program and better teachers. She did mention that if you are a musician or into theater, that those programs were stronger at Camp Ballibay. She did LOVE the food so there is that! She said it was healthy, plentiful and lots of variety. I wish I could take it back and not have sent her to Camp Ballibay. I expected her to a life-changing, enriching 3 weeks and paid more than we usually do for her summer camp so she could have that experience. I hate that she was teased and that some of the kids were not inclusive. It is possible it just wasn't a good fit for her. She is more a t-shirt and athletic shorts kind of gal and didn't think she would need to be 'cool' to fit in at summer camp. Unfortunately, she was judged for just being herself and not fitting the Ballibay mold. The reason I give the camp 3 stars and not less, is that I do think the communication was good, food was good, camp seemed fairly organized. Counselors were friendly. For the right person, this camp could be awesome...as long as they fit in. It did seem the kids in the younger programs were more inclusive.

My daughter has gone to Camp Ballibay for 3 summers now, and has been talking about her 2018 camp dates since last summer. She is hooked, and I can only say that if I knew about this kind of camp as a kid, it would have been the best thing I could have experienced. For kids who like the arts: all mediums of visual, theater, voice and instrumental music, dance, gardening, horses, and more, this is your place! Everyone feels included and free to be who they are. If a child wants to try anything, they are allowed. The free-form approach allows campers to do what they are drawn to, try things they might have never felt comfortable with, and move in ways that are more intuitive and supportive to their internal desires. Unlike a regimented camp, with class times and structure, Ballibay has a framework that kids can move in and out of, dedicating their time to what they like to do, not what they are told to do. It's a breath of fresh air, in a beautiful location full of fresh air. The food is mindful and delicious, the facility is sprawling as well as cozy, and the feeling of belonging is felt right away and will last forever. A great summer camp for all!

Our kids are second generation Ballibay campers. My siblings attended for many years and the tradition goes on strong with our children. Apart from the awesome offerings of the camp: the activities, the facilities, the counselors, etc., there is something special about the Ballibay experience that lasts a lifetime. Decades later, my brothers and sister are still close with friends from Ballibay, and often talk about experiences there that shaped who they are. The atmosphere is warm and the culture of the camp is one of inclusion, community, generosity and sharing. Our kids came home with their musical horizons broadened as listeners and they gained new confidence and new skills as performers. The flexibility of the way activities are structured also gave them opportunities to try out art forms they had never considered. We can't praise Ballibay highly enough and encourage anyone with kids who are creative or interested in exploring their creativity to sign up with confidence.

Ballibay camp has changed my daughters' lives. They both have done Art Farm and Rock Farm and just absolutely love their experience there. They look forward to going to camp every summer and then relish the experience of camp for months after that. I would recommend this camp to anyone with kids who are interested in all the arts, music, acting and filming. What a great camp!
